Despite Google closing down Google Reader and people getting content updates through social media services such as Facebook and Twitter, I still believe RSS feed readers are the best way a blogger can stay up to date with the latest news.
Social media services tend to give you live updates of new articles, however feed readers allow you to check the latest content from hundreds of websites at a glance. It is a more practical way of scanning news and content from important websites, and is therefore an essential research tool for every blogger.
